There are many different Delta 8 strains that are on the market with a few taking familiar names. One of the most popular Delta 8 strains takes its name from a member of French royalty, King Louie XIII. It is an indica strain that ironically is known for its relaxing effect. Ironic because it seemed the king did very little of it.

Learning the History of King Louie XIII

The son of King Henry IV and his second wife, Marie de’ Medici, Louie was born in 1601. The future king was one of many children brought about by his father through his marriages and affairs. He was nine years old when his father was assassinated during a time of religious tensions between Catholics and French Protestants. He took the throne in October of the same year while his mother ruled as regent during the early part of his reign. When he was 14, his mother arranged the marriage to Anne of Austria.

He took control of the country when he was 16 with one of the greatest challenges coming from the continuing religious discord. After taking over, he exiled his mother. He won an important victory against the Protestants, though his mother came back and he had to exile her again.

King Louie XII then started having issues with his own wife when he declared war on Spain through the pushing of his chief advisor, the Cardinal de Richelieu, and his desire to establish French dominance. Richelieu even accused her of treason, though she wasn’t found guilty of the charge. He didn’t have his first son until he was 36 and died five years later.

Ironically Taking the Name of King Louie XIII

It seemed like the king never really had a chance to take a breath through his entire life. Between taking the throne at nine years old and having many of his own people hate him, the king clearly had a lot of stress to deal with. However, the strain with his name is well-known for the relaxing effect that it offers. It will offer the user the feeling of relaxation that the king would, no doubt, have greatly appreciated.

Learning About the Strain, Learning About the King

With a strain taking the name of a king that proved his valor in battle while also having to worry about enemies at every turn, long-time users would probably think that the strain will offer an energizing effect. Instead, it gives a relaxing effect that will allow the user to just kick back and de-stress.
